Oil heat customers have the convenience of storing heating fuel in their home safely thanks to the Roth Safety Tank. This tank is an innovation that has eliminated the fear of a rusty leaking oil tank in your basement. When you are in the market for a new tank, we recommend the Roth Safety Tank.
During the construction of a Roth Safety Tank, there is no compromise on materials or construction. Roth tanks meet the strictest European safety standards and exceed the most recent industry safety regulations. Each tank undergoes thorough testing before leaving the factory floor, including ultrasound tests to ensure optimal thickness of plastic, and pressure testing to ensure the tank is sealed completely.

Tank Lines:
As a homeowner you should be aware of the integrity of your oil feed lines. In many older homes your oil feed lines are under the floor or encased in concrete. In many cases these feed lines are made from copper which over time has the tendency to corrode or split due to changing conditions within your home. Contact us today to do a feed line inspection.
Feed lines that are not visible are difficult to inspect and therefore difficult to diagnose if there is a problem. With a shifting of your home’s foundation or basement slab a feed line can and will rupture causing a release of oil under your home that may go undetected for years.
Oil heat customers now have the convenience of containing their oil in new oil feed lines encased in plastic protective sleeves. This new material called Oil Pro-Tec™ is resistant to almost all chemicals found in the soil. It is also flame retardant, abrasion resistant, and resistant to Earth movement. Oil Pro-Tec™ coated copper tubing was uniquely designed to protect both the environment from oil contaminants and the copper tubing from corrosion. Oil Pro-Tec™ features an innovative concept in fuel oil tubing. Special grooves between the coating and the copper assist with leak detection should a line failure occur.

Underground Tank Replacement:
F. F. Hitchcock would recommend replacing an underground tank with an aboveground tank to reduce your liability as a homeowner. In many cases there is no problem with your current underground storage tank however there is also no means to be sure.
An indoor aboveground storage tank has many benefits. An indoor tank can be installed in any free space in your basement or crawlspace. F. F. Hitchcock can provide a total package of extraction and storage of oil in your underground tank, excavation of your existing underground storage tank, and installation of a new aboveground storage tank into which we can then transfer your existing oil.
